New Crochet Project: A Poncho with Victoria Yarn

Posted on June 23, 2009 - Filed Under Crochet, Poncho

Initially, I wanted to crochet a poncho as shown in this post, but I changed my mind. I shall crochet a simple pattern and let the lady at the knitting shop join up the pieces for me to form a poncho.

The crochet pattern for this poncho, and the cotton yarn balls by Victoria Yarn.

It’s a bit hard to explain how it’s done, but it’s like crocheting 2 separate pieces (one longer piece and another shorter piece) and join them up as a poncho. I should know better how it can be done after I complete the 2 pieces, but I have only started this project 2 days ago.

I can be quite quick in crochet but I shall take my sweet time in this project. I’ve always love doing crochet, thus I want to enjoy this project a little longer. :)

This poncho is done with No.2 crochet needle by Clover. I really love my crochet needle sets by Clover, they are really nice to work with!

My Almost Completed Knit Dress

Posted on June 23, 2009 - Filed Under Dress, Knit, Project Progress

Finally, I’ve completed the front and back pieces of my knit dress in Creamy Filatura Di Crosa Pasta Yarn, which I’ve been knitting for 6 months! It’s the longest knitting project ever, I think…

I have more than a yarn ball of Creamy Filatura Di Crosa Pasta Yarn left, hopefully it’s enough for joining up the pieces and touching up details at the collar and bottom of the dress.

I shall put the pieces away and send them back to the knitting shop when I fly back next time.

Thus, the dress is almost complete, but I can’t wear it until a few months from now!

My Gal’s White Knit Dress with Simple Embroidery

Posted on June 8, 2009 - Filed Under Dress, Knit, Embroidery

I’ve almost forgotten about this white knit dress even if it was completed some time ago. My gal was willing to try it out last weekend, and this dress which used to be bigger and now fits her so well.

Even when my gal grows taller, she can still wear this dress as a top and pair it with a pair of tights. She loves the wavvy fluffy sleeves.

Since the dress is knitted with Victoria cotton yarn balls, it’s very soft and comfortable. The lady from the knitting shop helped me to do some simple embroidery with my loose yarns in different colors, and it makes the dress looks very sweet for a little girl.

So, do you like the dress? To me, it’s simple and nice.

Some Progress on My Dress and Scarf

Posted on February 5, 2009 - Filed Under Dress, Knit, Project Progress, Scarf

I hardly have time to knit at home, but over the past few days, I went to the immigration office for long hours and I knitted there like a freak. LOL! It’s always long waiting for us so I might as well make good use of the time and come out with a few more inches on my projects.

So far, I’ve knitted the front part of my dress in Creamy Filatura Di Crosa Pasta Yarn, and I’m starting on the back part now.

As for the scarf, I bought another balls of fluffy yarn, and I will get it ready before end of the year. LOL! It’s so boring with all knit all rows, and I can easier doze of working on the scarf.

Actually, I just need one day to knit another 30 inches but it’s too boring for me. I should put this project aside first as winter is over. I won’t be needing a scarf now.

Knitting A Scarf…for Myself!

Posted on January 20, 2009 - Filed Under Knit, Scarf

I stumbled upon a handicraft shop the other day and could not help myself from getting a pack of the knitting yarns. The 10mm needles were sold along with the yarns and they were pretty cheap! It was quite windy here in Bangkok, so I thought I might as well knit myself a scarf.

I picked the yellow yarns, and it’s fluffy. LOL!

Actually, I’ve completed about 30 inches, and I’m out of yarn. I should go back to the store and get another ball. I think the scarf is lovely to me.

Knitting at Vacation

Posted on January 6, 2009 - Filed Under Dress, Knit

That’s the progress of my dress. I brought it along to the resort last week and managed to knit a few rows there. It’s a lazy-do-nothing-4-days vacation, so I had some time for knitting. Besides that, the place was windy and it’s nice to be knitting outdoor.

I’m so slow at knitting this dress, but then, what’s the rush?

Project Progress: My Dress in Creamy Filatura Di Crosa Pasta Yarn

Posted on December 3, 2008 - Filed Under Dress, Knit, Project Progress

I’ve only knitted about 12 inches of this dress in Creamy Filatura Di Crosa Pasta Yarn. It’s kind of slow as I don’t knit everyday now. Even if I do, there’s only one or 2 rows before I call it a day. I’m too tired to stay up for knitting, and the weather is so nice for a good night sleep. :)

Anyway, I’m not in a hurry to rush for this dress and any of my pending projects. Those yarn balls can wait…

Project Progress: November 2008

It’s been a few months since I update all my projects, so I’m going to do it now. I’ve completed my tops in Schachenmayr Nomatta Fiesta and Lily yarns, as well as Gedifra Oasis cotton yarn. When handing in them over to the knitting shop days ago, I bought some yarn balls for my new projects.

My boy’s scarf

I’ve completed this project last night, and since it’s crochet, I only need 3 days to get it done. I mixed some leftover cotton yarns with Zara wool yarn in maroon, so it’s not too boring for my little boy.

If you are interested in crocheting a scarf, here’s the crochet pattern.

 My girl’s crochet dress

It seems like my girl doesn’t like her new knit dress in Victoria yarn. Maybe it’s white and even if there are some details, it doesn’t look appealing to a little toddler. I will post about the dress some other day…

So this time, I decided to crochet her a dress, with lots of holes. Thus, she will have to wear it with a pair of tights then.

But the dress won’t have long sleeves because she doesn’t like it. I haven’t decided on the color combination with Tropic yarns, but the base color will be apple green.

Which combination is better?

My Poncho

I have a lot of knit and crochet tops already, so I thought I might just do something else. A poncho might come in handy if I want to spend winter in colder places. So, I will crochet myself a poncho with Victoria cotton yarn and mixed with Zara wool yarn and other loose yarn balls I have.

I still have a knit dress, a scarf and a tee for hubby to go. So, I guess I will be quite occupied with my projects for the next few months.

My Knit Dress in Creamy Filatura Di Crosa Pasta Yarn

Posted on October 29, 2008 - Filed Under Dress, Knit

I have a few projects on hand, but my knitting progress has slowed down a lot. I don’t knit much but only a few rows before bedtime. That’s the only time I have for knitting these days. Previously, I used to knit in the car, but these days, I have to navigate by looking at the map so that we don’t get lost on our outings in Bangkok. LOL! On normal days, I am just plain lazy. :P

I guess I will return some yarns to the shop as I don’t feel like working on Zara wool yarns. I have sensitive nose, and I keep sneezing when knitting with Zara yarns. Thus, I will send them back to the shop when I fly back soon.

As for the time being, I’m knitting myself a dress with creamy Filatura Di Crosa Pasta yarn. The dress should look like this…

…as shown in my previous post….But I have only done an inch!

I will be very slow in this project as I keep referring to the knitting pattern. It’s different for every row until the first full pattern is completed. I guess this project will keep me occupied for a few months…
