My Gal’s Knit Dress in Rich More Freesia

Posted on November 10, 2009 - Filed Under Dress, Knit

I love the sweet colors of Rich More Freesia yarn, if it’s not so pricey, I would love to buy more for next projects.

Rich More Freesia

I picked this color of Rich More Freesia, and combined it with white cotton yarn by Plum Brand.

The yarns are soft, but Rich More Freesia is irregular in wide, so it took me a white to get used to it when I was crocheting my gal’s new knit dress. The bottom of the dress was done by knitting, but the top was completed with crocheting.

This project took me more than a week to complete, and my gal loves it a lot.

The color is sweet for a little girl. Don’t you agree? :)

My Crochet Poncho in Victoria Yarn

Posted on November 5, 2009 - Filed Under Crochet, Poncho

There you have it! My poncho is ready for sale! Just kidding…It’s not for sale. :P

I love the colors, but too bad I might need to amend it next time when I go back to Malaysia. I think I need to add a few more rows on the rim so that it sits nicely on my shoulder.

I haven’t worn it yet. Maybe I will wear it some day this winter. :)

My Knit Dress in Creamy Filatura Di Crosa Pasta Yarn

Posted on November 4, 2009 - Filed Under Doll, Knit

It’s supposed to look like this, if I followed the pattern exactly from the book. But I’m too lazy to knit the sleeves, and the knit dress in Creamy Filatura Di Crosa Pasta Yarn turned out like this:

I worn the dress yesterday, so I might as well snap a photo of it. I paired it with a vest and a belt (pardon that not so nicely worn belt :P ) and some necklaces. I look fat in knit dress, so I have to pair one up with accessories to create that “I” look. What to do? I’m not those super skinny type mah… LOL!

My Boy’s Tee in Hamanaka Yarn

Posted on November 3, 2009 - Filed Under Knit, Tee

I didn’t plan to knit for my kids when I was back last month, but my kids were asking for new knit wears. Both of them like to get new knit wears from me from time to time, and I don’t know why. LOL! So, I bought some yarn balls from Hamanaka in beige, pink and brown and knit a tee for him.

Hamanaka yarn balls in beige, pink and brown.

This is one of my fastest project as it’s completed in 5 days. LOL!

Day 2: Completed the front part with 4mm knitting needle.

Day 4: Completed the back part, with an eagle as requested by my boy.

Day 5: Completed the sleeves.

I passed the part of joining and hiding loose yarns to the shop, as usual. :P I know, I’m cheating. LOL! But I don’t like to join my projects, so I prefer to pay for the service.

So, here’s the end result:

My boy in his new tee in Hamanaka yarn. It’s very comfortable and suitable for the cool weather in Thailand now.

Here’s the back of his tee. I think the eagle was not nicely done. :P

I might bring this tee back to the shop on my next trip home. Let’s see if they can help me to fix the “not-so-perfect” spot.

My Crochet Top in Silvery White Lily Yarn

Posted on November 2, 2009 - Filed Under Crochet, Top

I just realized that I have never posted this completed project, even if I have been wearing it for months. There are lot of backdated posts which I’m too lazy to post nowadays. :P

But then, this top is so nice, even if it’s already been worn and washed for so many times, it still looks as good as new. Here’s a brief summary of the project progress, if you are interested:

  1. The Silvery White Lily Yarn, which is so gorgeous.
  2. The back design. Sorry, no crochet pattern again. :P
  3. The shoulder and the collar, which are joined with a lot of flower crochet patterns.

And here is the top:

The front part has more”travel” stitches so that it’s not too revealing. So, the back part is sexier. LOL!

I love the top with flower patterns all joined up as the shoulder and collar.

It’s one of my favorite crochet project and I truly treasure it. :)

Hubby’s Blue Tee in Katia Perla Yarn

Posted on September 29, 2009 - Filed Under Knit, Tee

I’ve completed my cape and dress, so I started knitting hubby’s blue tee in Katia Perla yarn. I love the color and how soft the yarn feels on my hand, I think it’s a very comfortable tee for the year end in Bangkok, when the weather is cool and windy. Too bad I might not be able to finish it in weeks, so hubby will have to wait for next year. LOL!

I’ve only knitted more than 5 inches for the back of the tee…

So there is more to go. Here’s the knitting pattern:

The blue arrows mark the front while the red arrows mark the back of the pattern. That means I need to check the pattern for every row, as the knitting pattern involves front and back. It’s not too hard, and in fact, I feel that it’s less boring. I’m using 3.25mm knitting needle for this project.

Project Progress: My Poncho

Posted on July 9, 2009 - Filed Under Crochet, Poncho, Project Progress

I took this photo a few days ago and that was before my boy fell sick. So, I managed to crochet the poncho up to 9 inches so far, and I haven’t touched it since.

This piece is complete once I reach 12 inches and then I will start with other piece. I guess I can finish the project by end of the month, but I would like to do it slowly… :)

New Crochet Project: A Poncho with Victoria Yarn

Posted on June 23, 2009 - Filed Under Crochet, Poncho

Initially, I wanted to crochet a poncho as shown in this post, but I changed my mind. I shall crochet a simple pattern and let the lady at the knitting shop join up the pieces for me to form a poncho.

The crochet pattern for this poncho, and the cotton yarn balls by Victoria Yarn.

It’s a bit hard to explain how it’s done, but it’s like crocheting 2 separate pieces (one longer piece and another shorter piece) and join them up as a poncho. I should know better how it can be done after I complete the 2 pieces, but I have only started this project 2 days ago.

I can be quite quick in crochet but I shall take my sweet time in this project. I’ve always love doing crochet, thus I want to enjoy this project a little longer. :)

This poncho is done with No.2 crochet needle by Clover. I really love my crochet needle sets by Clover, they are really nice to work with!

My Almost Completed Knit Dress

Posted on June 23, 2009 - Filed Under Dress, Knit, Project Progress

Finally, I’ve completed the front and back pieces of my knit dress in Creamy Filatura Di Crosa Pasta Yarn, which I’ve been knitting for 6 months! It’s the longest knitting project ever, I think…

I have more than a yarn ball of Creamy Filatura Di Crosa Pasta Yarn left, hopefully it’s enough for joining up the pieces and touching up details at the collar and bottom of the dress.

I shall put the pieces away and send them back to the knitting shop when I fly back next time.

Thus, the dress is almost complete, but I can’t wear it until a few months from now!

My Gal’s White Knit Dress with Simple Embroidery

Posted on June 8, 2009 - Filed Under Dress, Embroidery, Knit

I’ve almost forgotten about this white knit dress even if it was completed some time ago. My gal was willing to try it out last weekend, and this dress which used to be bigger and now fits her so well.

Even when my gal grows taller, she can still wear this dress as a top and pair it with a pair of tights. She loves the wavvy fluffy sleeves.

Since the dress is knitted with Victoria cotton yarn balls, it’s very soft and comfortable. The lady from the knitting shop helped me to do some simple embroidery with my loose yarns in different colors, and it makes the dress looks very sweet for a little girl.

So, do you like the dress? To me, it’s simple and nice.
